Week 1: Endurance Training (Aerobic Training)

  • Interval Training – Higher intensity workouts in shorter spurts separated by rest periods.
  • Fartlek – Consists of games and activities while running, jogging and walking intermittently
  • Games – Small numbered games to enforce continues body movement with and with out the ball.

Week 2: Speed and Agility Training

What is Agility? – Agility is defined as a rapid whole-body movement with change of velocity or direction in response to a stimulus. The camp will focus on exploiting that stimulus response with:

  • Drills – That require the players to react rather than anticipate.
  • Tests – That measure their reflexes and their ability to adopt to change.
  • Games – That will challenge their abilities and allow them to demonstrate their strengths.

Week 3: Technical Skills

The focus for the final week of camp will be technique and ball manipulation while still challenging the athletes physically. Passing, controlling and shooting drills, as well as small-sided games will be utilized throughout the week.

  • Passing Drills – Focusing on game situations.
  • Shooting Drills – Challenging the players on different angles with or without a defender.
  • Games – Small sided games that allow more touches and opportunities on the ball.
